Can anyone give me some feedback regarding the two types of brake boosters?
I am new at this old car game and need help.

I'm not sure which is which but one has the boster mointed behind the master cylinder on the firewall the other is mounted under the dash.

My only experience is removing a failed treadle vac on a 56 scub, after everyone told my buddy not to bother rebuilding it. There is some info on the web, most of which indicates both these units were problematic at best. May I ask the application?

I've seen both used on Ford, Studebakers, Packards, Lincolns late 50s early 60s.
