With the bankruptcy proceedings for SpeedSmith now behind them, it looks like the aluminum Y head project being done by what was SpeedSmith is now dead. There are other parties out there looking at making the heads but I'm not privy to any serious efforts in getting anything to market. Likewise, I don't foresee anyone actually advertising that they are working on a Y head at this point until the head is actually ready to go into production. With the proliferation of other 'niche' heads being produced, there is definitely an opportunity for a head manufacturer to step up to the plate and make a good performance head for the Y. Just gotta wait and see.

Ted, thanks for the update, i wasnt aware of the proceedings you mentioned and i,m sure there is a pent up demand if someone takes up the cause, what happened with Dove originally thinking of doing them. regards aussiebill.

Bill and Ted: Someone on another site says they have contacted Dove, and Dove has castings ready to machine. Should be available end of the year, they say. We've heard that before, but maybe this time it's true. John

Bill, pay no heed to what Lon has to say, It would be great to have more Aussie's up for the shoot-out (especially ones that can drive ). In all fairness Lon had some disadvantages working against him, but once he pays for my airline ticket to Australia, Ill come down under and kick his butt! Rob P.S. I'm just kidding Lynne, before I get hate mail.

aussiebill (10/30/2006) Can anyone tell me the ARP rod bolt # to fit the C1TE rods as a direct replacement. Thanks, aussie bill.Bill, I just used a set of ARP 154-6004 rod bolts in a set of C2 rods which, if memory serves me correctly, has the same clamping distance as the C1 rods.

Great news on the Dove heads, and Lon or Bill I am still waiting for a 55-56 UTE the next time you come this way. I have worked down under a couple of times and was supposed to go there this past year on a job. The plant is a Fertilizer plant in Phosphate Hill, Queensland, I think the closest town was Mt Isa which I flew from there to the plant (about 250 miles from the plant) and flew from the plant to Townsville on the way home. It is one of the most remote plants on earth, thats why they have their own airport to fly in and out of the plant. I have not made it to Columbus to meet you yet but I am looking forward to it, soon I hope. If I get down under again I will look you up and maybe take a detour from work. Maybe I can bring home a few sets of Rollmasters in my luggage. Bill
