Carb from a 352

Im new to the site and not sure if this is the right place to post this and I have a few questions. I have a 1964 ford F250 4x4 with a 292. I have found a 1 ton (year unknown) with a 352. the questions I have are,


 Will the carb off that 352 fit and work with the 292, if not what carb could I use?
What would be a fair price for that 352? I don't know if it runs are if it spins free

heaps of good y-block info here, several members have been playing with them since new!

Two barrel or 4 barrel?
Carby should work fine if in good nick.
If not, and a two barrel, a 350 Holley is good.
If a 4 barrel, a 465 or 600 Holley, or Summit 600.

it is a 2 barrel. I think it has only been sitting for only a few years.

The carb on the 352, having sit for some years & being set up for a much larger engine, may not be the way to go. It mite be easier & more successful to rebuild your current carb. You didn't i.d. ether carb, so it's a somewhat vague question..

The 352 carb will bolt on the 292 engine and assuming the carb is in a runable condition, will run okay on the 292.  If it's the larger sized two barrel, then top end performance will likely pick up as well.  Many of the pickup 292 two barrel carbs had the 1.02" venturi which was very limiting in performance after 4400 rpms.  As has been brought up, any carb that has set for awhile may need some work before putting any fuel back into it.  Pulling the top off the carb and taking a quick look in the bowl area will give you a good idea if the carb needs a complete disassembly before you even try to use it.

I do not know what carb is on it now, no I.D. tag on it and I took it to a speed shop and they still cant I.D. the carb. Thank you

Thanks for the help. I have looked at the Motorcraft carb in the LMC parts book but I would like to stay more old school but will use it if I have to, my maybe looking at a complete rebuild to. If I remember right the head on the right side was starting to leak when I parked 3 years ago. Thanks again
