John Mummert has been a long time HUGE supporter of our hobby.  He has written numerous articles over the years for Y-Block Magazine, and has been a long time contributor to threads on this Forum.  John, with his son, Geoff, has been responsible for the development of numerous replacement and aftermarket performance components related to the y-block engine.  John's efforts have SIGNIFICANTLY enhanced our hobby interest.

As a parts source, many of us try to direct our business to John.  As a vendor, John supplies quality parts and is great to call if you've got a question.

His web site is www.ford-y-block.com/

Airman;

I had the T-98 tranny in my 56 F-100 longbed. They are a 4 speed trans with NO syncro's to first gear. You have to be completely stopped before putting the trans in first. Also called a "granny" gear or "creeper" gear, they were typically used around the farm for chores so your have to ride the clutch all the time. I don't know any of the gear ratios, but if you get a 56 Ford Truck shop manual, all that info is in there.
