Here's a link to "another forum" wherein my son posted a video of me checking total timing on our 296 (301) with Mummert heads: http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1328720-mummert-heads-on-albatross.html
I just had to share!

I'm only too glad to share!
The Internet is a bit of a time sink, isn't it?

I got an exhaust on it and it is inspected. Here is living proof that the Mummert aluminum heads work (nicely!) on a ~10/1 292 bored .060 over. It ("Albatross") has a 6.200/1 rear differential so she'll get no awards for top speed. Might make a fun little bracket racer.. There I go thinking again! Haha, "I don't want to wait for that big thing. It's too slow." One of the real dangers of driving an old truck that can actually get out of it's own way. That's why it's absolutely necessary to upgrade brakes.
It sounds great.
