Hey guys, hope all is doing well.

Quick question.  I have a 56' 272 and I am putting on a 3x2 setup that I just got.  I am running a Turbo 350 trans and a post 57' distributor setup with the ignitor 2.  I am adding a picture so I hope it comes out ok.  I am assuming I would run the temp sensor for my fan relay in where the black circle is, and a tee off of the hole with the red circle to both my distributor and th350 vacuum.

Does that even seem right?  Sorry for the crazy questions, I am no engine guru, but I know a lot of you are.

Thanks in advance!

The black hole is normally for the heater line but I guess you can use it for other things. There are adjustable probes that slide in between the radiator fins that are popular now and many like.

Engine vacuum is good for the transmission but not sure for your distributor. I am not familiar with all the 2 barrel carbs but those look like 94's. I do not know if they have a tap for distributor advance use the center one if they do. I'm sure others here can comment on that. On the last Powerglide/Turbo 350 I plumbed I used 1/8 " steel brake line and made it follow the rear of the engine along the right side of the trans supported by 2 or 3 Adell clams and used a short piece of hose at the end. Looked good and functioned properly.

What trans adapter are you using and why the turbo 350 as apposed to a C-4?...Good Luck

Thanks Dry Lakes.
I am using the Wilcap adapter.  I had the TH350, so I just went with that.

I am building a rat style truck, so no heater, no a/c (other than the windows, haha).

I have the same rig 3x2 and TH350-minus the dizzy-I have a Mallory with mechanical advance.

There was a boss in the back of my manifold that I drilled an tapped for the TH350 vac (yeah I had a freebie too) -used a Bendetsen adaptor.
The TH 350 can also be built to not need a kick down.-both help clean up the manifold area

There are a few that have base spacers for the 94s and 97s that have vacuum ports-I may go that route. My 94s are really prone to boiling and some amount of spacer may be handy also.

Sorry guess I should mention the vendors-they have them at Dashmans (I use they're phenolic spacers) or Vintage Speed.

I  won't comment on the vacuum hookup situation. However.. unless you are converting the engines up from a 2 Bbl setup, don't expect huge performance gains from those Offenhauser tri powers. All else being o.k., they will likely perform about the same as an early (55-56) 4 Bbl setup. Testing has shown that intake design  trails all the other 3 carb Y-Blk intakes of that period..

Manifold vacuum should work fine for the distributor.  It only requires a little bit of a different tune than ported vacuum.

Thanks for the input guys!
