I've searched everywhere I could but I can't find anyone that sells just the pump diaphragm for my carb. The pump diaphragm is different from later models. I don't want to spend $80 or so for an entire kit just to get a part that should cost $10 at the most. My carb doesn't need a complete rebuild and I doubt it will in my lifetime with the amount of use my car will get. Can anyone help me?

Looks like one for a Holley 4150/4160 may fit.

I'll have to look into that. The difference this carb has from later designs is the pump diaphragm has a long narrow plunger shaft.

Walker supplies many of the carburetor components to others who offer kits or components. The the last I knew, Walker had no minimum order quantity or dollar amount.

Gotta Fish Carburetors seems to specialize in 2100 and 4100 Autolite carburetors. They advertise extensively on eBay both rebuilt units and miscellaneous replacement components like vent tubes, choke actuating components, float bowl baffles, etc. Scott Parsons is the contact name that I have.

Still waiting to hear back from gottafishcarburetors. I kind of thing this guy is my last hope. I'm beginning to think I'll have to bite the $80 and buy a whole kit just for the $10 part. It's starting to sound like the day is coming that you'll have to buy a whole car just to get the tires.

You might try Daytona Carb Parts in Florida. They have helped me out in the past on some individual parts for different carbs. If the long extension is the only thing keeping a later model diaphragm from working on your earlier carb, then you might consider simply using a machined separate extension that fits in the cover between the diaphragm and the lever.

Is the carburetor the one with the check ball instead of the umbrella valve on the accelerator pump?? if so, I rebuilt one for a friend's '57 Ford, and used the regular diaphragm. The kit came with a little extension (just a little metal rod) to be used in that particular model of carburetor. You can get a regular diaphragm, and cut a piece of the rod from your original part and use it as a extension.

That looks like the same carburetor as mine. It's interesting that I contacted Mike's Carburetor and they didn't offer the suggestion to just get the regular diaphragm, which they sell by itself, and use the rod like they show in the video. They only wanted to sell me the whole kit. I think that's a little dishonest on their part. Thank you for the suggestion Túlio.

While on the subject of 4100's I have some 65, 66 manuals and they say there is a check ball in the secondary vacuum passage that prevents the secondarys from opening prematurely and the 1.08 carb I was running apeared to be missing this ball, I then checked 4 other carbs I had here and 2 rebuild kits from napa along with the instructions and they did not have this ball nor do the parts break downs show this ball in their kits. Instead they had little restrictors in the passageway and the kits do not come with the little balls. When did they change this secondary feature?

I got lucky yesterday and found the correct diaphragm for my carb. I'll see how it fits when I get it and I may buy a few extra for spares as these seem to be very hard to find.

I was going to reuse the old shaft with a flat diaphragm if I hadn't found the right one like I did. The only problem is that the old shaft uses a spring loaded cap (56) for whatever reason and that would have made it a bit of a challenge.

I got the diaphragm the other day. It's an NOS part which I feel I was lucky to find and at a very reasonable price. I wasn't sure if it was the right one but I felt it was worth a risk at the price. I bought the last two he had after confirming that it was indeed the right part as spares. I'm going to see if I can put the carb back together tomorrow and get the car running once again.

The diaphragm is now installed and it started almost on the first try. I accidentally knocked the distributor off timing when installing the B manifold. A quick turn back and it fired right up. I runs OK but I need to fine tune the carburetor a little better. I'm finally on my way to running a B manifold with hopefully a more reliable carburetor.
