Can anyone recommend a reliable carburetor rebuilding service? I have a Holley 4160-465 cfm 4 barrel on my 1956 Crown Victoria with a 292 yblock. Also, what steps do I take to prepare to ship the carb to eliminate the gas odor?

I've heard damp straw can used to soak up chemical odors.

Are you east coast or west coast USA Im assuming? There is a guy that's on Ebay    rpmltd  he sells Holley parts he also rebuilds Ive had a 450 done by him to my spec , Couldn't tell it was a referb and its was very reasonable in price and he supplied the carb!  his name is Phil. He is on the East coast.

That sounds like a later carb. What's wrong with it?  There maybe someone on this site that can sort it for you & save the headache of shipping it away etc.

  The two gallon freezer zip lock bags work well for enclosing a whole carburetor and sealing it.

We use fresh coffee grounds to cover up the gas odor when we ship warranty fuel pumps, tanks, etc, to our suppliers. Seems to work; they always get there.
