Is there a chance that a 63 292 ignition timing could be 180 degrees out? Cause I am getting fuel and spark and it still will not start. And I noticed my
Dizzy cap has a cutout that it fits over but there is not much room to adjust the Timing so how do you adjust it.

Pull out no.1 sparkplug and remove valve cover from that side. Put your finger over the sparkplug hole and turn over engine (with a remote starter or wrench on harmonic balancer bolt) until you can feel compression building. Keep turning engine slowly (clockwise from front) until both valves on no.1 are closed. Mark distributor body (not cap) with felt pen where no.1 lead lines up. Remove cap and the rotor should be pointing at line on body , or very close. If not, move the dissy body until it does, timing will be close.
Do not try this when the engine is hot...

Ok thanks but the only problem is I can't move the dizzy cap any it only goes on one way because it has the cutout. By the front side snap clip to hold the cap down.

Not the cap.If at no 1 TDC compression the rotor is not pointed at the #1 terminal in the cap you will have to unbolt the distributor and move it until it does.The engine should start there and you can now rotate the distributor as much as you need to to get the timing right.
