I’d be concerned that in using the bottle brush under the oil pan tray that you would not get all the ‘crud’ removed and would be getting it dislodged just enough to come loose at a later date once the engine is running. A machine shop that has a good caustic soda vat would likely insure that most if not all of the sludge under the baffle would be removed.If you feel comfortable in that all the 'crud' has been removed, then never mind.
