I am trying to do a factory correct restoration of a 57 Custom,  Would anyone know what casting numbers would have been on the factory correct oil pump, the car was built in January '57?  The casting numbers on the pumps I have are EAD 6604 and a newer C1AE 6604A (1961).  Thanks. Randy

The gerotor oil pumps were first introduced on some of the 1956 engines and by ’57, most engines were supplied with these pumps.  You should find the casting number ECG-6604-B on the ’57 oil pumps.  This was the first of three versions of the gerotor pumps for the Y engines.  Your C1AE pump should be the third and final version while there was a B9 pump in between those.

IF you're looking for a rotor oil pump with the casting number Ted identified, there's presently one on eBay.  On eBay search for # 191414566008.  Rebuild kits are still available for these from the auto parts supply houses.  Write back if you need the part number and I'll dig it out, Randy.

Thanks,  Apparently there were two pumps made with ECG number, ECG 6604-A and ECG 6604-B. I would assume if they started using these in late '56 I should look for a ECG 6604-A model, sound correct?
