I should know this but:  what gage steel are the front fenders on a '57 Ford Tudor Ranch Wagon?  Thanks....

Hmmmm...  I've always bought 20 gauge plain panel for patch repair work...

Hope this helps.  Smile

I am using 18 gage for my repair work, but I believe there is a chart that converts gage thickness to thousandths of an inch. So, if you can use a micrometer or caliper and measure a clean unpainted part of the fender, you should have the gage thickness.

I use 18 gauge myself, but I have heard that the metal was some where between 18 and 20 gauge. maybe old Henry just wanted to be different or he may have figured out how many pennies he could save by using a thin 18 gauge panel.

You didn't say, but are your 57 fenders rusted badly?  If they need repair around the headlite housings or at the lower bottom, patch pieces are available from one or two suppliers. One is EMS engineering. They advertise in Hemmings etc.
