Does anyone know where I might buy a Y block blower crank hub ???

No, they don't make them, you will have to give me your blower! LOL Welcome to the site, I think most people have to have them custom made but try Gord, Mcmillan rexrep@telusplanet.net or Chuck Cline may give you an answer, he just had one made.

Can you be a little more specific? Are you looking for the stock crank pulley for a VS or VR 57 set-up? or another type of blower?

I had one made up to add a pulley for a 4-71 on my stock balancer. I can provide measurements if you like or have him make another on. Uses all three bolts in the damper and sits flat against a double V setup. Can be made for single V too. Chuck

Heres my hub very much similar to Moonshadows . Uses one of John Mummerts steel dampers. adapter is a snug fit to ID of damper. I added 4 more mount bolt holes to total of 6. [ kind of overkill I guess] 2" register to accept different pulley types..Im going to use V-belts for first attempt. .As Moonshadow offered I can send copy of my print.also . Regards Thundercat

I had an original McCulloch magnesium add on pulley for a guide. Made the same taper to fit into the pulley. I think I like the mounting face a bit better on Thundercats but so far am happy with mine. Chuck

thanks for the help, my motor is a 292 with the forged crank, I was going to make one as I have full machining facilities at hand, I was a little concerned about the crank nose being only 1.250", I intend to run dual vee belts, I have some aluminum blanks so can make the pulleys. I'm using an aluminium timing cover.

Guys on my 514ci Cadillac I have an 8/71 and did away with the balancer completely and made this hub and added a double keyway, had the complete rotating assembly rebalanced, is it not feasible to do it this way on the Y block ???

I just found your PM and replied. These are some pictures of my future set up. The body shop is when I picked it up at Bill Myrands after he repaired and painted it for me. Super slick! Chuck

By the definition of the word, of course it is feasible but I don't think it is a good idea to remove the damper (balancer) on any engine, let alone a blown engine that should make some pretty good power. I'll let one of the experts get more specific about it. Innovators west make a nice damper which is set up with a 4 bolt small block Ford pulley bolt pattern. That should provide some off-the-shelf options and perhaps provide a more robust mounting point for a blower pulley.

Its quite common to do away with the balancer on blown motors as the belt evens everything out, my 8/71 blown Cadillac makes 1050bhp and is as smooth as silk. I can't use a SBF hub as the crank nose is bigger diameter.

The damper is for a Y block and fits a Y block crank but uses the SBF pulley bolt pattern.

Wanted to add I also have a set of 2V pulleys that fit the blower pattern. One is about 5.5" and the other is about 6.5". I f clearance is a problem I can run them. Would look more old style and I could still get either a small under or over drive. Not to mention a bit more nostalgic. Chuck

Very similar although I just went with the existing hold down bolts and a V shape to follow the taper on the McCulloch pulley. I can have them re-produced for around $100. The twin V pulleys for stock application are available from Mummert's site. The ones I meant are the 2V pulleys to fit on a blower drive. Chuck
