With the fast helpful response here I want to post this question here, I have asked else where and have not really made any progress.
Basically I am looking for a reproduction fan/generator belt. I have found that some places sell reproduction belts for the T-birds and have the original markings on them. But the number on those belts do not match what my parts and illustration guide indicates my '56 Fairlane should have which is ECG-8620-C. The ones I found for the Tbirds are either ECJ-8577-A or ECD-33558-A.
I have emailed Macs as well as Concours Restoration parts and Macs said they do not offer anything that will meet my requirements, and Concours never responded to me. I also checked at CG Ford Parts and still haven't found anything. All I can find is modern replacement cog belts which I really don't want to use since I eventually hope to have this original car back like it was when it left the dealership.

Are the T-Bird belts the right length? If so this may be the closest thing you can get. If it fits I doubt that anyone other than you would notice the difference. I know the pully offset is different because of the spacer behind the water pump on the bird but I would think the length may be the same.

One change that happened around May/June of 1956 is the water pump pulley and number of blades on the fan changed. At least on the Birds and probably on cars about that time since they were both made on the same assembly lines. The pulley went from 6 7/8 in to 7 3/8 and the fan went from 3 blade to 4 blade. (From the CTCI Restoration Manual)
The build date on my Bird is May 15, 1956 and it has the small pulley and 3 blade fan.

My Fairlane, I have to measure the pump pulley but the fan is a four bladed fan. I been thinking of finding the belt that is a replacement and see what the dimensions of it is and compare it to the one I found. I hate to have the incorrect markings on the belt but I also hate to have a belt on it that says NAPA. Plus I am not crazy about the cog belts but the reproductions I saw with the factory markings on the belts are cog belts. I didn't know cog belts were used in the '50s
I do not know the build date for mine either but the original warranty card indicates that it was delivered to the dealership May 12, 1956 so the build date would have to be around April or early May.

"This is a new old stock, genuine Ford, fan belt #B6A-8620-Ain the original Rotunda parts sleeve. It has ‘FoMoCo’, ‘B6A-8620-A’ and engineering# ‘ECG-8620-C’ moulded into the outer face of belt. Measures 45.14” overalllength around the outside of the belt. It fits:1956 Ford passenger cars with all V8 engines and 12V-30 ampgenerator with 3.34” OD on sheave of gen pulley and 7-3/8” OD water pump/fanpulley."

Thanks for the response, I was going to go look it up just now but now I can hit up I think it was Concourse that had the belts and see what dimensions they are
