T-Bird parts guys have the correct Turquoise paint for the T-Bird emblem. The T-Bird Club Concours Rules don't address it. Last time I used the Torch Red from the car exterior. Possibly Ford Engine Red?  Not paranoid about it  and either will work but I am curious if anyone knows the "right" color red?

My eye makes me think that the Ford engine red paint color is too orange in hue.  The '55 'Bird and late production '57 'Bird Torch Red exterior body color sounds like what I've seen used.  I'll see IF I can find any indication in the C.T.C.I. 'Bird restoration guide, Slumlord.  Smile

HuH!  Through the index of page 481 of Addendum 'J' of the C.T.C.I. 'Bird restoration manual, there is no listing of where to locate information about the aluminum valve covers or any valve covers!

I suspect that there's mention somewhere in the manual about this, but it didn't make the index they generated.  I'll try to find something in it tonight.  w00t

I used nail polish from my wife's collection that match the original paint.
For the guys in Australia that want to match the blue as pressure packs can't be posted, I found early Falcon 6cyl engine colour to be a good match.

I have been through the T-Bird judging rules and their restoration manual  and could find nothing. Will use the Torch red because it looks right and I have it on hand unless someone has better info.
