When installing an alternator with one wire hookup is it ok to hook the wire to ANY + connection or does it need to be connected to the + side of the battery?

In an effort to make mine look as inconspicuous as possible, I connected mine tot he +/live terminal of the starter solenoid. that is the same side that the battery + cable connects to. Hope this helps!
