I'm working on a 1954 F100 truck with the original flathead v8.
Should that motor be centered in the frame rails or offset to the drivers side?
I'm trying to find proof of either. Tech drawings or something.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

For an actual 54, it should have a Y-Block. You could have a 53 that was titled in 54 which is entirely possible.
Maybe you can find what you're looking for here:http://www.oldcarmanualproject.com/manuals/Ford/1954/Service%20Bulletins/index.html

54 Canadian Fords still were flatheads.

Try looking at the pinion placement on the rear end.  If the pinion is offset to one side, then the engine was most likely offset to the same side by the same amount of pinion offset.

As far as I knew Canadians had Mercury trucks, not Fords then.
