I'm trying to decide on a trickle charger with a brain after just having to replace my 12 volt battery. Primary candidates are Battery Tender (12V 1.25 Amp) versus BatteryMinder (12 V 1 Amp) versus Battery Sentinel (12 volt 3 amp); Only Sentinel & Minder have "desulfination" features, but most good press found was for Tender. They're all within the same $50 to $60 price range. Anyone know of any good reasons to use one of these three or a good reason why anyof these should not be considered ?

I drive mine once or twice a week and change the battery about every 3 years.

I bought a trickle charger about 3 years ago. It was exactly that a trickle charge. I threw it away and charge the battery when it needs it or when I am going to drive my car. They may be ok if they work but mine didnt work at all. My 2 pennies

I have the 6 volt Battery Tender on my club sedan, it cooked my expensive 6V Power Punch battery dry.

My current 5 yr. old, 6V mini BatteryTender seems to work fine. Had another brand (cheapo) that failed to keep the Optima charged over the winter. Since EVERYTHING now made in China, just a crap-shoot if it works or not.

Look at the Automatic trickle chargers. You can find these for less than $50 at most major retailers.

They will do the job and not let you down.

I store my 56 ford with one, my mustang with one and my motor home with one. They work for me.

This is my 3rd year with a battery tender on a maintenance free "Power punch" tar-top repro, with no problems, FWIW.

I also have their "Jr." version I use to keep 2 lead-acid batteries charged in a flight box I have for R/C airplanes, and it has worked great for about 2 years on that as well.

Put them on the snowmobiles over summer.
