Found a 312 crank for sale the other day that had been bead blasted including journals,would that be a problem.Just want to make sure before I buy it Carl

I would say it would depend if it has already been turned down and how much. Would definitely have to be turned. If it was standard or 10 under it should clean up. 20 under maybe. 30 under I don't think so.

Good for a stroker project. 292 mains and 2.1 srub rods.

Carl. I see no problem with the crankshaft being ‘blast’ cleaned as that simply makes it easier to check the crankshaft for cracks. While 0.030” / 0.030” is the limit for turning the 312 cranks simply due to bearing availability, many of those ‘well used’ 312 crankshafts can still be used as a basis for a stroker crankshaft in a 292 block.
