Getting ready to mount my new B manifold on a rebuilt 292. This is a change from the original 2 barrel manifold. The gasket that came with the set fits the old 2 barrel manifold fine, but on the B, not so well. What I notice the most is that it does not cover the mating surfaces on the manifold completely. Does the B require a different gasket or does this difference not matter?

Sounds like you might have the smaller mercury intake gasket that is indeed smaller than the later type that will certainly be correct.

most oh kits have 3 different styles of intake gakets,i don't think you will have a good match with ports with a bto 55heads.
