I did my own last year. If you have a good vise and a workbench you can probably do it all yourself. The parts can be found for decent prices.

I had considered that Dan but I just don't have the time. My wife and I work opposite shifts and we have a 2 year old. So you can imagine how much free time I get to work on my projects. I was hoping someone had an rebuilder they had used and recomended

I used to set the playpen up in the workshop with my daughter. As long as I was nearby she was happy.

I would not recommend these guys, my buddy had a brand new rebuilt steering box from them he put in his 55 F 100 and they did not get the shaft centered in the sector shaft roller gear and he complained about hard steering, when I dismantled his box I found that these rebuilders could have killed him had that steering locked up. the shaft did not have enough support in the hole and slipped out of their weld they had on it! Scary!

I think after pricing to have one done I am going to take Dans advice. After looking things over I think I can handle it. I have an extra so if I flub it up I can always have it done.

How do you tell the difference between a 2 and 3 tooth sector box?

The two tooth sector shaft is 1 1/8" in diameter, the three tooth is 1 1/4".
