Hello, I was reading back over some old posts about trimming down the element inside the breather housing . I was just wondering if anyone knows how much to trim off to be effective . Thanks

I can't see a reason to even think of trimming the road draft filter element.

It appears that trimming down the element helps stop the drip from the down tube .

The newer replacement elements most time are TOO long and is evident when you cant seat the can into the houseing flange, if so trim it till can sits comfortably.

From a post 7 years ago by Bigwin56F100 " To eliminate oil leakage , use metal cutting shears to trim the vent screen assembly to a length of 1 13/16 "   Found this in my service bulletins and thought I would share it. This is what I found while searching the forum . Hope it helps someone. My car has a slight drip and think this may fix it .
