I'd like to know what AUTOMATIC transmissions are out there that have the Y Block bolt pattern?
Other than the Fordomatic I now have.
FMX? Mercomatic? Anything else
Also, any that are Aluminum cased?
Thanks
Jim

There is an aluminum Ford-O-Matic but its a true 2 speed no shifting down to 1st. If you want  better setup there are a lot of adapters out there. John Mummert http://www.ford-y-block.com he has adapters for C-4 swaps. There are also adapters for AOD's if you fancy an overdrive. Chuck

Hey Moon
What years was the 2 speed used?
Thanks

I'm not exactly sure but it was the later years around 1960 on I believe.

I had a 59 Edsel 292 that had the 2 speed trans, not sure if that was the 1st year for it though   Carl

1959 was the first year.  I don't know when they stopped them, but there were two speed C-4's in 64.  Around 64 was the first 3 speeds I think

Last question for the night:
Moon
I really like the scoop on your 56. What's it from?
Very cool

The carb bonnet is an old McCullouch product. Came with some blower parts.

The hood scoop?
Thanks
Jim

A bit confusing, I don't have a hood scoop on the Vicky. The hood has been modified with the mascot removed and louvered. I used the hood latch section from a 55 Ford and the 55 grill surround to give the tube grill a more finished look.

There is a stock ford  bell   that was used in 1964 ford pickups to bolt 292 to a  C-4
3 speed they are rare but I seen  one at a swap meet last summer  The part number is C4AP-7976-c!

Thanks Small Block
Also, Moon I was talking about the hood scoop in the avatar.
This could go on forever

No problem, are you talking about the engine, under hood picture or the car profile. Chuck

Ha Ha Ha
It appears to me that in the pic in the avatar that there is a hood scoop installed? Maybe it's just the lighting and again I am confused.
I apologize. I am talking about the car pictured (not avatar) next to the engine picture that appears

I thought it might be that picture. It is a reflection.

Do a search  for  Transmission  Supply C4-C5 Bell application and you will find this  bell listed under 292 and also for 272!
It was  available at one time  there is no way of being sure  of finding one  now!

C1 AP 7976 A-1  & C1AP 7976 A-2 are aluminum y block bellhousings that ford o matic,cruise o matic and FMX will bolt up to.  Carl

Just a note for anyone that might have Y-blk automatic bell housings around that are not needed. Bristol Services in Costa Mesa CA is advertising for them & Flex plates also. contact; garycroan@gmail.com or 949-722-1122... Not sure why he hasn't advertised here? Was advised of the site some time ago..
