I see there are 30 and 40 amp ones, how do i even tell which generator i have? Or does it matter?
I lost all charging on the way home. It came on once with a high rev and the light stayed off all the way home but the next time i fired it up it stayed on nomatter what. I still havent throw a volt meter on the generator but i'm making the easy guess.
Oh and ive heard a rumor that the new regulators dont require polarizing?

You probably need new brushes put in the generator.

That's a thought, will it outright die that way though?

Brushes could be worn or a broken brush spring, broken wire etc etc. You don't polarize the regulator, it's done at the regulator but thats for the generator.

Well after braving the snow i finally tested stuff, it was the generator. I think this only had 65k miles on it too. It still had the factory markings and all. Luckly i also was able to get one off the shelf from the napa 30 miles away
