I'm in the process of removing my '56 Victoria steering gear and am going to have it rebuilt. Who does a good job of rebuilding at a reasonable cost??  From what I've seen the prices are all over the place.  Its manual steering. Thanks for your help in advance.  Jim

I've heard only good things about Redheads, https://www.redheadsteeringgears.com/

I'm going to give them a try soon.  They actually have the box for my truck in stock, for exchange.

I just did this for our sunliner, and did it through rockauto.  I also had them do the power steering control valve at the same time.  Order/pay through Rock Auto, and it ships directly to Lares.  Lares did great work, and it was about a week turnaround.  Was the lowest price I could find too.

The Lares website also shows that they work with one of the large parts chains (maybe AutoZone), but i couldnt find the rebuild listed on their website; maybe someone in the store would know if they do it, but that would probably save the hassle of shipping it.

I wonder where they find the Sector and Input Gears for the 55-56 Ford Passenger Cars. Getting harder to find NOS especially the 3 Tooth Sector Shaft later Boxes. If its a early Style 2 Tooth Box it will almost certainly need at least the Input Gear. Joblot used to have these but they are no longer in Business.
