So with my 57 im fix it up from ground to roof I have already rebuilt the front end and the transmission and im picking up my rebuilt 292 this week and cant wait to install it currently im welding up holes in the fire wall like the blower motor hole and heater box inlet and random holes (going to ut ac unit in the car later) but my question is has any body switched out there vacuum controlled window wiper motor to an electric one I talked to some guy at a car show and he said that a 50s chevy wiper motor will bolt up if this is true does anybody know the year and all so I can find one or another suggestion for an electric motor.

the unit from a '57 Scrub will fit. Available from Concours and I've seen them on ebay. Might be some others I'm not aware of.

Frank is correct about 57 c--vy motors fitting, "if" you can find one in good order at a reasonable price? The Concours ones are just under $200 + shipping. There are other ones are on the market, but the one I had from Vintique, packed it in twice & because I don't normally drive the car in the winter, I had the vacuum one rebuilt by an advertiser in Hemmings Motor News for under $70 including return. It has been suggested here that some of the aftermarket electrics are built from boat wipers, which in some cases are originally intended to operate one wiper only. So buyer beware!

Might try Newport Engineering . Their kit is what I put on my Bird. Everything fits with extended switch and Park position, also 2 speed. My 2 cents Good Luck God bless

Hey Eddie, So I have heard that some of the aftermarket electrics for birds don't finish in park position. How about yours?

I have Newport Engineering kits in three car s- 56 Bird, 54 Ford and 48 Ford. All work great and a minimum of trouble installing-but I had the dash out on the Bird.

The two speed wiper kit I got from a T-Bird supplier won't park! I EMAIL'd the guy on EBAY with the electirc conversions and he said he didn't know if they parked or not. If he wants over $200 from me he'd better find out! Chuck
