Hi,

Is the compressed thickness of a Fel-Pro head gasket the same as the Best head gasket? I just got my block back from the machine shop, now the pistons are .005 out of the hole, I read here you want to have a zero deck with a Y-block, will .005 out of the hole get me in trouble? I have a small cam, about .450 lift.

Thanks

0.005” out of the hole will not be a show stopper with the composition gaskets that are available.  There are some of us out there that do this by design.  The numbers I use for YBlk head gasket thicknesses are 0.041” for the FelPro and 0.045” for the Best Gasket brand.
