The Ford P&A book lists two frames, box type & x type. I think the x frame is t bird. The box type calls out different mounts on Victoria and Sunliner, going by that the frames should be the same for 55'&56 cars

, The short answer is yes, there may be a difference in the body mounts but I don't think so as a crown is just a fancy sedan.. 1952 to 56 Fords share the same frames.(52/53 front suspension is different) X frames were used on convertibles

Be advised, there is a VIN stamped on passenger side front frame horn, vicinity of radiator support. I had read about this so I went out and checked mine while body is on rotisserie, sure enough it's there..

they are different.the hardtops and crowns had a strip welded to the bottom of the frame to stop flexing as well as more body mounts.in 56 they made the frame 1/32 thicker and didnt weld the strip on anymore.a few early 56s still had it.youll have trouble with doors with sedan frame.
