You can smell gas in my car while driving, does this indicate a tank problem? I have a new intake and card 4160 system and no leaks 55 Fairlane 272

You should not be smelling gas so it is a problem. Make sure there are no leaks and that fumes are not getting into the car from the tank somehow. Also make sure it is tuned properly and not too rich.

I had an exhaust fume smell in my Vicky. Traced it to a bad trunk lid seal.

With the engine idling and you standing behind the vehicle, does the exhaust still smell ‘rich’? If so, then the carburetor and/or ignition timing needs to be revisited.

Check the gasket on the sender for the gas gauge. It may be leaking and sending fumes into the inside. You have to lift up the trunk mat and there is a little door that you have to remove to access the sender.
