Rosiei've done this in a 56 truck,i believe there is a detailed write up on this website from a Mr Hallam in a car.
he is very helpful. it was a very straight foreward conversion. the kit is actually from a company called "FLAT-O-MATIC"
I had 3 minor problems 1-- the truck uses ears on the bell housing that had to be reamed from 1/2" to 9/16"
2--studs on TCI converter would not fit holes in flex plate ,i touched the flex plate with a die grinder but check first its a bit of a bear to spot from underneath the truck and on your back!
3--the dust cover for the converter has a captive nut on one side, the corresponding hole in the bell housing was also threaded. i have temporarily left the bolt out.
you will also need an FE starter i think.
good luck stu
