I'll try not to bore with details here. But My Dad's car was stolen a year ago by his NOW Xwife. She had the title changed so we couldn't steal it back and blah blah the drama went on for a year.

Oh yah, did I mention he has alzheimers': so…my sister and 2 attorneys had to do the divorce and the car recovery.

After 1 year, he's divorced from her and we got the 1957 Tbird back that he has owned since 1966. The car won first place/modified division after we restored it in 1968 at the nationals. (our first restoration)

Today, I cleaned it up for him cleaned out the dist cap with wd-40 drained all the fuel. and put in 3 gals of premium. The battery wasn't dead! it cranked like crazy and started up. At first it sounded bad with a knock in it and I checked the pushrods to see if they had jumped. OK, poured some oil over all the rockers, started it agin and it cleaned right up. Added a quart of tranny fluid and we drove around the block.

This is the happiest i've seen him in a long time.

Me too. This is one of the biggest reasons I didn't get my car finished and make it to Columbus last year.

You've accomplished much more than a trip to Columbus. We will be there for years to come but you never know about your dad. That smile is worth a fortune! Chuck in NH

Al.  That’s a great story and thanks for sharing.  When We meet up again, you’ll have to share with me the legal issues you had to go through in which to get the car back.  That has to be another story in itself.

Al,

My Dad started me on my love of old Ford's. I used to go everywhere with him in our old 55 Customline. My Dad like yours developed Alzheimer's. I wanted to get my 56 done and ride with him like we used to. He died before I got it done. But, his "Spirit" is with me every time I drive my 56 Fairlane. It keeps saying, Jim SLOW DOWN!

It sure is great to see your Dad enjoy his beautiful T-Bird once again. Good luck to you Both!

Jim
