I've been working my a$$ off the past week. The floor pan is done! The T5 is waiting for it's test drive. If that goes well, it's done! The paint is drying on the bracket for the bucket seats! I don't consider the bracket finished but it's good enough for the trip. The coolant catch can is done! All I have left is to install seat belts and tighten the u-joint bolts. Oh, and I should probably change the oil - It's been sitting for 3 months. I should be able to do the test drive tomorrow. I think the truck might make it this year! I'll post pics in the appropriate threads but right now I'm hungry and tired so I'm getting some food and going to bed. I'm leaving Atlanta Monday morning about 9:00 If anyone's heading from the southeast and wants to meet along the way let me know. I'll be taking I-75 most of the way.

Well, y'all, I tried. I push in the clutch and it squeals like a pig at the slaughter. The clutch feels very stiff as well. So the truck will not make it this year. Maybe 2009? I'm suspecting the sleeve for the throwout bearing is the problem. Of course, I can't know until I pull it down. At least I didn't have to drive all of the way back from Tennessee this time! It's too bad, because it started right up. It wants to go!

Charlie, If it's squealing, maybe the throwout bearing isn't turning. I don't think the inner race is supposed to rotate on the sleeve. The sleeve issue would explain the hard clutch though' Are you going to drive up anyhow?

Oh, I'll be there, taking lotsa pictures. Got a much better camera than I had last year, too.
The bearing is the only thing that had to be modified, with a reducing sleeve, for the T5 and, of course, I needed a new clutch disc. There is a step on the end of the reducer sleeve. I think it may be contacting the fingers on the pressure plate.

I'm sorry to hear that, we were all looking forward to seeing it run.
