Finally gave up finding one (unless I stumble across an antique/swap meet tool).

But, I did notice in the photo showing height measurement procedure (Classic Trucks series), they are using a spring seat shim stack (correct size still available) AND a smaller/shorter barrel mic., on bosses partially trimmed for PC seals (like mine). Adding the two measurements will get the job done.

Hollow head, so this tool works well on our heads?  I believe my installed spring heights were not set correctly and am looking.

What about the vice mounted spring pressure gauges on the bay?  Accurate or junk?

Looking at the Summit item listing, the I.D. of the gauge is not listed which is where the problem typically lies with the Y head in regards to using these height mics.  The guide boss on the Y head is larger than those on most other heads and prevents this style of height mic from being used without either modifying the height mic itself or machining the guide boss on the head to a slightly smaller O.D.

Don’t know the specifics or the quality on the testers offered on the ‘bay’ but as a rule, the vice mounted spring testers are an inexpensive alternative to the higher priced Rimac valve spring testers.  These would be very cost effective for those who are not doing an inordinate amount of spring testing.
