Doing a fluid change.  Searched online and went to the local parts store.  All listed the same pan gasket for my 59 Edsel with a PRNDL 2 speed auto.  An almost square gasket. A TOS 18106.  But under the car the pan has a round bump out. TOS 18109 looks like the correct gasket.  Under FOMOCO is raised letters and numbers:
B9AP-7006B
#4
and under that stamped in is:
PBR-A-155903
292

What is this thing?  Pretty sure this thing is also aluminum if that helps.  I am going off a 59 Edsel manual so if this is something different, I need to know for the right fluid type and capacity etc.   Thanks for your help.

Found them on eBay for a 1959-1964 Ford product with a 2-speed Ford-o-matic with aluminum case. Ford part # 11122 CODZ-7191

Thanks.  I just found a site charlietranny.com/2speed.htm that lists some info.

Have not found a filter listed for it.  Is it a cleanable screen type?

Happen to know if the torque converter has 2 drain plugs like the cast one?

I've seen what is lilely one of those trans filters & it probably is possible to clean it, but I can't swear to it... Maybe someone on here has the part # ?

Paul is correct, the trans was equipped with a screen type filter/strainer and was cleaned in solvent and gently blown out/dried with compressed air as was common in the day. In fact, my vintage transmission parts catalog doesn't list a screen or filter as a replacement part.  The shop manual actually refers to cleaning "the screen."   There should be 2 drain plugs, the second drain plug is to be removed to allow air to enter the convertor to facilitate draining.  PBR-A is correct for your application and the 5 digitt number is nothing more than a production sequence which started with 10001.  Hope this helps.....................
