ok , i realize that for some reason 57 chevys are more popular the 57 fords even though ford out sold chevy almost 3 to 1 in 57

as many of you know i recently bought a 57ford BigGrin so i started looking for catalogs/ parts sources after market and  reproduction parts everything from suspension to interrior and im utterly amazed at the lack of stuff out there .Or am i just not looking in the right places? as far as repo stuff goes i havegotten a larrys thunderbird and dearborn classics catalog  it seems that if you have a 54-56 ford (no hard feelings towards those that do) these 2 companys can set you up but if you have a 57-64  the pickins are mightly slim

and then i go to the after market got most of the BIG name catalogs and they are filled with stuff speciffically built for a 57 chevy  and of course all the other chebys  but when you look for ford stuff again if you have one that is older then 1948 not much of a problem  UNLESS you happen to own a F100 48-59  then your fairly good to go again

we wont go into the muscle car stuff Wink

when i had my first 57 ford back in 1991 i kinda understood the lack of stuff but by now i would of thought that SOME companys would have excepted and admited that there was another car(and people do like to build them aswell) built in 57 besides a belair  and would have started offering parts for them

but i guess not

sorry for the rant and i know atleast im about 99% sure im not the only one here who has dealt with this

ok so now back to my reason for posting this  where do you guys find parts for your cars are there little known companys out there making good stuff  for them? if you know any please tell me where and who they are

as mentioned im looking for reproduction, performance, appearence , period correct assorries etc ,etc etc

the goal for my car that im gonna try to achieve is a x-60's dragcar put back on the streets in the 70's

also if you happen to have any pics of "back in the day" (GOD I HATE THAT PHRASE) 55-58 fords i would lone to see them  dragcars, streetmachine, custom etc

im just looking for ideas  thanks for the help

yes it does make you wonder why these companies went so much on the scrubs, but I guess it was demand ??  Anyhow,  Dennis Carpenter is another good parts depot. He actually has alot of the old Ford dies and reproduces exact repalcement parts at I think are fair prices. I have bought alot from him for my 54 Merc & my 64 Galaxie Convertible. His website is www.dennis-carpenter.com. Check it out!   Mike

I have gotten 1958 neutral safety switches from them. Much cheaper than E-Pay, and my 56 starts in park or neutral. Just nice guys and if you have the part number they really like it but will work with you either way.
