I finally have all of these ready to go for your 1957-1962 car or truck with the '56 plates. I also have the '64-'70 for the same price. $15 each, or ask me for a discount for quantities of 3 or more.

The prices for original stickers is going through the roof, and I have accumulated several N.O.S. stickers for the 1957-1970 years. The ones below are reporductions using these as templates. They are the correct size and color as the originals, and once applied and installed on a car are hard to pick out from an original. Hundreds of these sold with 100% satisfaction...

I investigated the DMV process, and while they verify that your plates are real, steel, and a matching legible set they only verify that the sticker used is the correct year and color for the corresponding vehicle. A lot of folks bash the reproduction stickers, but I have not had a single complaint and actually sell to a few license plate dealers.

See pictures below.

I will pay USPS shipping regardless of quantity.

I use and prefer PayPal, but accept USPS money orders. Shoot me an email for more information and payment instructions:

Thanks,

looks great todd,

i was wondering if DMV would reallly inspect plates if i brought them in. As i have only one 56 plate and was considering getting a reproduction aluminum one, have it shipped to arizona and then mailed to me in CA. (repo company doesn t ship to CA)

i did a check on my orig 56 plate and its clear through DMV.

thanks for your input on this.

The CA DMV will check the plate to see if it steel or aluminum. When I got my YOM plate on my 57 I just took the steel one with the year sticker on it and had no problems having the plate assigned to my car .

When I put a YOM plate on my tear drop trailer that was a hassle. Trailer plates were made of aluminum but the person behind the counter did not know that fact. I ended up bringing all my trailer plates to the DMV to show the counter person that all trailer plates were made of aluminum and after talking with the head supervisor they agreed with me and gave me my plate. Good Luck

I have heard this go both ways...

Some get away with one plate, some offices make you bring 2. The time I was there, they actually photocopied the plates to send the to Sacramento.

A lot of the guys that peddle the original stickers say that the DMV looks a the numbers on the sticker, but that's just BS.

The '56 plates were actually issued in aluminum for awhile during 1960. I have a pair, and the paint is really shiny in comparison, and they dent very easily.

I know the repop plates you're talking about...and I will use them on my next go around after I have the legit plates approved at DMV. I wouldn't bring a real one and a reproduction in together though, as they look different when side by side. The characters are very similar but the "56" stamping is a little different.

I went to DMV about 2 months ago with 2 (they do look at them and better have both) 56 YOM plates and they did give me a temporary sticker and took my $35.00. Month later sent me a note saying these were tagged for a 62 car I could only use them on a 62 car. I don't understand. Got to get a day in my life when I feel like going into battle, put on my VietNam Vet t shirt and hat and go argue with someone.. Gerry

Gerry,

Once the plates have been re-issued, even once, for YOM use they are now back in the system. While the plates may be technically "clear" they must have been issued to a '62 vehilcle at some point since the program started. That's the one caveat to the YOM system for the '56-'62 plates. Once they are designated as a given year they can only be used on that year...even if the sticker is removed and a different one applied...

I kind of understand but it sucks. Do you think going in and talking would do any good? Thanks for the input. Gerry

I don't think it would, based on past experience with DMV employees...

Just curious, what year are you wanting to put them on?
