If I install a T-5 trans in my 56 Club Sedan with a stock bench seat, will I need to modify the seat?

I know someone has performed this task.

Don't want to cut the seat or go to buckets.

If you did put in the T-5 with a stock bench seat what shift lever did you use?

Thanks

You may have to find or make a shifter that will clear the seat.  That's the case with trucks.  Not sure about the cars.  You can also put an S10 tailhousing on a mustang box to move the shifter forward a good bit and most likely clear the seat just fine.

No mods needed if you drive w/ the seat all the way back.   Will get an interior pic posted soon.  Got the shifter off Hurst website but not sure I can find info now as to which one.

Jim:    I'll bite my lip here, but the Hurst lever from a 55-57 scrub will

clear most seats from cars of this era.   Its 'C' shaped and will reach out

from under the seat. You probably can look at a picture of one, on their

website. I made one, for my truck, out of rebar. Got a lot of laughs at

Columbus, but it works fine.          Bill
