I bought a 56 C600 coe and I thought it had the original motor in it but now I`m not so sure. The  truck has a 4bolt 2bbl manifold on it, and a Stromberg 2bbl carb from a 60s mopar on it. I had a 56 F600 and I remember it having a Ford/holley on it with the 3 bolt flange. Question is what is the manifold from? Casting number is ECR-A, can`t find the date code. I`m thinking it might be a Merc, but I`m finding traces of the original yellow engine paint on it. Any ideas, as I`m thinking it could have been swaped out and the motor may be the stocker.

I’ve removed a similar early model four bolt two barrel intake from a 1955 big truck 272 engine of which that engine was also yellow.  That particular carb was a Holley teapot 2 barrel with a governor but the carb bolt pattern appeared to be the same as a 2 barrel Rochester.

Thanks Ted, I found a Holley 2bbl tea pot carb out of a merc thats not too bad and it fit like it belonged there.  It`s not goverend ,I`m going to rebuild it and try to get this truck motor running to see what condition its in. I thought if its worth it I would juice it up some as its intended to be a 1ton when i`m done for hauling some toys!.
