I was cleaning another 292 block in my driveway today. I had already run a gun cleaning rod with a brass wire brush on its end through the oil galleys. On a whim, and because I hadn't tried this idea before, I grabbed some pipe taps and tried chasing the threads on the oil galley plug holes. When I did, I dug out a bunch of junk.

Just thought I'd pass that along.

Thanks for the info Paul.  What have you been doing for the last 10 months or so?

Hi Mike.

I finished up the wife's rental house and sold it. And I put in some garden beds. I'm finally getting back to work on the truck.

I got a B9AE engine locally, but when I got it home I found that two of the four bellhousing bolt holes were broken. It took a couple of tries to get it fixed right. With luck I should have the engine back together in a month or so.

How's your truck doing?

Paul,

The short block has been done for quite a while.  Also changed running board arrangement, put in aluminum rad, fabed a light seat, and did some front end boxing.  But...the heads which I planned on being an as is bolt up havent worked out that way.  They are still in the shop.  I have enough saved up now to call and ask if and when they will be finished w00t.

You sold a house!  That is something in this economy!
