Birdman-I think you don't want any solid core wires - stainless was once popular, but pretty much out of the picture now, and you don't want the very old graphite core stuff either. A good grade of the silicone jacketed, monel wire wrapped, radio suppression wire will work fine for both the CD ignitions and the high powered "electronic" inductive systems as well. There are many brands of this type of wire available - choose your favorite color. I finally ended up with Taylor - on the advice of Bird55 - but I'm not using it for a CD based ignition.
I did cover the wire with a "second layer" of protection by putting on the Moroso temperature sleeving at critical points. It allowed running the wire in some "hot spots" under the exhaust manifolds where I was concerned about longevity. The time to decide to do this is before you start making upo the wire runs......
Does anyone know of a small diameter cap made for the Ford distributor - that has the male "HEI" type of connector studs? Especially one made with the brass contacts. The later model "Mustang" HEI caps I've been using for my systems is too big for some situations - tri-power for instance and also very close on the Blue Thunder set-ups. But I prefer the HEI style brass studs for the "snap-on" type of secondary wire connection.
