Power steering pump pulley does not line up with single add on pulley added to single damper pulley. Bracket is ECG33559-A, pump pulley looks about 1 inch past add on pulley. Do I have wrong bracket, wrong add on pulley or what? thanks in advance for any help.

Y-Guys      On this power steering thing, if you are not trying to

keep it "original" looking, you might look into making it into an

electric power set-up. On my '60 F100 I used an electric

P/S pump from a mid 90's Toyota MR2, mounted it inside

the "C" channel of the frame up front by the radiator, had the

hoses made to match-up and it's worked fine for 8 mo. now.

The wiring to the pump has to have a relay, and large wire,

because it will pull 60/70 amps when turning sharpe, plus it

makes a "whine" much like a big fuel pump.

If you can live with these minor set-backs, it sure beats

          messing with pulley's, belts.etc....Bill

Sounds like you have a 57 or later model pump or the wrong pulley on your pump.do you have the part number on the pulley that bolts on the damper. is the car a 55 or 56?  Carl

It's a 57 tbird 312 engine and pump, replaced damper with 50 something truck damper, not sure what the add on pulley came off of, traded tbird brackets for passenger brackets.

If the engine came out of a Bird, there is a 1" spacer behind the water pump.  Since the cast bracket mounts to the water pump, the power steering pump is 1" too far forward.

already removed the 1" spacer.

There's so many combinations around that it's hard to tell exactly what you have. If you have the pass car brackets, you're probably going to need a pass car Damper to bolt the add on to.

I can validate this if you give me the measurement of the center of the crankshaft add on pulley to say, the lip on the oil pan.

center of add on pulley to lip of oil pan is 2 1/8".

Here is some info on power steering parts , 54 55 56 ford  power steering pulley that bolts on crank pulley is ecg 66319-A there is 5/8 distance between these 2 pulleys.the later models set together.  54 55 56 pump bracket is eby-33559-A  the later model is ecg-33559-A .the later model bracket sets the pump a little lower and farther back.the 54 55 56 pump pulley is 4 " dia., and the distance from the center of this pulley to the pump itself is 1 7/8 .one other thing the 57 and up pulley on the crank takes the narrow belt, the 54 55 56 takes a wider 5/8 belt   Car  Ohio

Looks like I might have earlier model pump and later model add on crank pulley, pump pulley is 4" and takes larger belt and crank pulley bolts right together with other pulley and takes smaller belt. now what?

check which mounting bracket you have, the one that mounts the pump to the water pump.if you have the 55 bracket eby 33559-a  and the 55 pump maybe we can make a trade.i have a couple 57 and up pumps and  brackets e mail me at cl56vic@yahoo.com  Carl  ohio

Sparky, sorry this took me so long, the 2 1/8 sounds about right. At least that's what I get with a '57 Damper and the first groove on one of my pulleys. I am pretty sure that that will work on the '57, I've sold 50 or so to power steering people. No complaints so far.

You'll need to trade with somebody and get the correct bracket and/or 3/8 pulley for the '57 style setup. I don't know what years used the large belts, I thought only '54's and the trucks, but after reading the other responses now I'm not sure.

If you can't find an original bracket, check with Mummert, he's reproducing them.
