I think that John's dyno results with the Blue Thunder show it works well in the case of big inch motors or on high RPM, high HP motors. The runners are quite a bit larger than A factory manifold, which lowers the velocity of the air/mixture. This helps at higher speed, but hurts low end power wjth smaller or milder engines as Charlie stated. I imagine Ted's experience is the same, ditto Wally K and Gary. The runners on the new intake will be somewhat smaller, between the OE and the Blue Thunder. This should be significantly better for the 292's and mild 312's on the street, maybe even at the the track. The runner shapes and entry angles will be improved over the other intakes, adding to the benefits. It was designed with the alloy heads in mind. A Mummert "Performer" package so to speak. Stealing a page from Edelbrock's book.
There has been some "supply issues" with the Blue Thunders in the past.
