I'm salvaging parts off of a 56 sedan that had power steering. I have no experience with power steering bracketry on a y-block and found that the bracket that I pulled off was actually integrated with the pump. Is the pump rare enough to want to pay for it, too?

The brackets will unbolt from the water pump.Just a suggestion:make sure you get everything off this car as far as mounting hardware(nuts and bolts etc) and if the pulley on damper is there get it also.Maybe someone can post a diagram from the parts book or shop manual showing mounting parts. The water pumps are all the same.Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I realized that I had some water pumps to look at and discovered that they had the mounting hole for the power steering.

The parts I salvaged included the lower iron pulley, the power steering bracket and the large bolt that goes through the top hole in the bracket. That's all that was there.
