I was ordering Christmas presents for my 57 ranchero, I'm going with a 22 gallon fuel cell with a sending unit to the fuel gauge. The parts shop says there is 3 different types, one works between 70 and 10 ohms, one is 0 to90 ohms, and the other one is 240 to 33 ohms resistance. I looked on the gauge cluster and didn't find anything. Anybody know the answer to this? thanks in advance for your help, Mark

I think the one you want is 240 to 33. Assuming your sender is working now, you can check it by checking the resistance when the tank is full and and empty. I know 0 - 90 is GM.

ah. If you have the original sending unit, I would say that the gauge takes a 70-10 ohm sending unit. If it isnt, then you better find out what the ohm's are for the gauge. from my understanding, up to like 84 or 85, all factory ford fuel gauges were 70-10 then they it changed.
