Hi Guys.

I just picked my Flamethrower Coil. I just would like to confirm the wiring. I don’t want to damage anything.

I will be by-passing the external resistor.

I have 1 black wire coming from the distributor (Black) which is hooked up to the original coil - I am assuming this is negative.

Then there are 2 red wires (out of the distributor and one from the ignition switch) that are joined together and are now secured into the external resistor. I assume these go onto the positive terminal.

Can anyone confirm this hook-up. I guess its okay to leave the old resistor in place for stock look?

Thanks all for any help.

I don't have my copy of the Pertronix Ignitor installation here with me but ......

Yes, there must be full voltage on the two "red" wires you have described. That's a switched 12+ volts to the Ignitor module - and 12+ volts to the coil positive. The black wire from the Ignitor module goes to the coil negative post.
