Where is the horn wire on a '55 Ford Customline? Is it located in the sleeve that runs about 3/4 way down the steering column with the turnsignal wires? I want to wire a horn button on the floor and eliminate blowing of the horn from the horn button on my custom steering wheel. Is the steering shaft hollow or solid? All input appreciated~~~~~~~~~~Ron

The steering shaft is hollow and the horn wire is located in the shaft.

Where does the wire come out???? Must be engine side!!! I looked and don't see any wires on engine side. All it is a ground wire....right???? I want to hook the horn to a foot operated floor button. Thanks............Ron

On my '55 T-Bird the horn wire enteres on engine side of firewall at bottom of steering gear housing. It is a hot wire and touching it to ground will blow the horn.

The wire goes all the way down the shaft and comes out on the lower side of the steering gear box.
