Hi all,First, I want to start by saying that I am in NO way affiliated with these folks.
About a year ago, our car was in the World of Wheels show at McCormick place, in downtown chicago (long story). as the show was closing, we got started talking to two really nice folks. They told us they were in the process of starting a new magazine up, focused on the 50's & 60's nostalgia. They took a bunch of pics of our car, and were really nice. Long story short, they wound up putting a fair bit of stuff about our car in the article in their inaugural issue, which just came out. They asked some really good questions. I gave them some info about Y-Blocks, and they left in the parts about the resurgence of them and about the wealth of info at this site, which was cool. They got a few of the details wrong in editing (like the fact that our car isnt a t-bird, but a sunliner), but overall a pretty cool article.
However, I have to tell you the rest of the magazine was really impressive! There were some really interesting articles - an interview with the Big Boppers son (did you know he just recently had his fathers body exhumed to confirm that he died in the plane crash? Interesting description of what they found when they opened the casket...) and a story of visiting James Deans home many years ago, and getting invited into his childhood home and visiting with James' aunt.... great pics. Also some neat articles about other old cars, local rockabilly stuff, an article on the New England Doo Wop society, etc. Pretty cool stuff, and im only 38 years old!
anyways, i figured i would post the article if anyone wants to see it (got permission from the publishers). I would strongly encourage you to check out their website too. You can order the current issue for a few bucks, and if you like it, order a subscription. Like I said, ive no affiliation with them, but its a cool story - two folks who just always wanted to do a magazine like this, and now they are doing it! A neat story!
Enjoy!
