The D.S. Rams Horn is going to work! Maybe

Similar to the pic shown by Crab, I've been forced to run one Ram Horn on the PS and a front dump crossover going into the inner fender on DS.  With the pre 53 truck frames being quite a bit narrower than the later models, the DS Ram Horn dumped right on top of the steering box.

I had a machine shop put a pretty good angle on the unused manifold, hoping that it would tilt inward towards the block enough to give workable space.  It took at least an hour to do the milling with only .004 being taken off each pass.

At first it looked like there still wouldnt be room for the exhaust pipe.  In addition to the steering box, there is the oil pressure sender, oil pump pickup and Pittman arm to get around.

Today after fiddling around with different combinations of exhaust pipe angles and fittings, everything clears.  The exhaust pipe will be pretty close to most everything down there so some adhesive backed insulation will be needed for protection.

There is still quite a bit left to do, and which could kill the whole plan.  With the angled flange I need to have an angled washer, or the manifold bolt will only be in contact at its top.  Also three of the manifold bolt holes will need to be reworked to be able to align the bolts with their respective holes.

Half way there and hoping.
