If that is your 57 , looks like a nice car .......reach into your pocket and have yours rechromed , classic chrome in st Pete would do a good job , sometimes you just have to bite the bullet .............Sam

Does that price include metal working the parts? I noticed your exhaust tips are rusted some. I guess if the are going to do repairs and re-chrome its probably not a bad price. Chuck in NH PS: Don't try New Chrome in Mass. They have a terrible rep for losing parts and poor quality work.

I found a "family owned and operated for fifty years" chromer in Highland Park, Michigan, right next door to the old Ford factory. These guys beat everyone else's chrome plating prices by a LOT. They did both of my '55 bumpers AND all four bumperettes for $580 ($250/ea for bumpers and $20/ea for the bumperettes). I also had them do my grille and some other parts. They look beautiful. Oh, btw, lifetime warranty included in that price. Standard Operating Proceedure: They straighten bumpers before bright chroming. If yours is bent or dented, they metal finish and polish. It's included in the price. My front bumper had a place where it looked like someone pulled the car out of a ditch with a hook from underneath (it was a big 'pull' in the bumper). Today, you'd never know it ever existed; both bumpers look better than brand new. Here's the address: Micro Platers Sales Incorporated 221 Victor Ave. Highland Park, MI 48203 1 (313) 865-4200 www.micropb.com
Hope this helps. - Dave

Thats great to know. Family owned is often key. I go to Dearborn each year after Columbus to see my Daughter. I may bring them some work! On the same note, we should meet while I'm there. I head up right after the Y-Block Shootout and stay for about a week. Chuck in NH

MoonShadow (4/5/2009) ...On the same note, we should meet while I'm there. I head up right after the Y-Block Shootout and stay for about a week. Chuck in NHI believe the Shoot Out is Labor Day weekend. Call and let me know when you're coming! There's plenty to see and do, here. My wife and I always get season passes to The Henry Ford (Greenfield Villiage and Henry Ford Museum). If you've never been... My number is listed in the phone book (might as well, I've had it since '71): Dave Dare (248) 544-8834

Funny story about Micro Plating: I went in with my bumpers, the guy wrote me up, after discovering my address, he said he grew up in Royal Oak, and his parents still live there... blah... blah..
Turns out, twenty years ago, this old guy had a heart attack. His kids teamed up and got him a nice garage door opener from Sears. They installed it, but when they went to plug it in, they quickly discovered the detached garage had no power.I was the electrician who ran underground power to the garage, and the guy at Micro was one of the sons. He took real good care of my plating, and gave me a VERY good deal. Moonshadow, if you go to Micro, I'll go with you. I know they will treat you right.
