Dutchy,

Take a look in "This'n'that".Look under "Y-block motor slide show ".There are a few good looking Y-Blocks .Please post some more from NZ.I know you have plenty of Y-powered Rods there .

Did John Reid( Vandal ) have a set of "Shelby " Y -Block valve covers back in the 60"s .???? I know I have seen a photo of a set ,but I can't remember who had them ??? Maybe "Cusso Bill " can shine some light on the matter .?????????

Vandal debuted in 73, see link, It has just featured in NZ hot rod magazine in its restored (Vandal) form,(see attached pics,) it was only originally in this Vandal guise for about a little over a year then became Black Sabbath around 74 75ish, Gotta love the 70's, even cars had cool names....

I purchased the entire set of 1972 NZ Hot rod mags at a swapmeet and on nearly every page was a Y block Powered rod, we must have wrecked a lot of Customlines back then...

Are you familiar with the Woodward Dream Cruise?  Happens every August in Royal Oak, Michigan.  Here's a small sample:

IS that YOUR Vicky! Wow. The Dream Cruise is one of my hopes for the future. Since I'm at my daughters after Columbus I've often thought of reversing the route and going there before Columbus. What are this years dates for the Cruise? Chuck in NH

PS: We have done the Ford Museums and Viliage. What a piece of history they are. I haven't done the Rouge tour and tried to go to the Model T factory but it was closed when I was there. Chuck

I don't like that kind of flame either.

I once saw an A-36 Bonanza at the Santa Paula airport with a flame paint job, I don't think that sends the proper message on an airplane.  w00t

Lon, love the old cars and rods of our youth, wish we knew we would get old and all the great parts we took for granted would become scarce. i dont know of the Shelby covers you mention, i do have a set of "BOSS" ones? Seem strange for a y block! I,m off to the  Hot Rod Nationals  on Friday down at Goulburn, i.ll try to remember to take some shots of y block power there. Best regards  Aussie bill.

I'm gonna put flames on my bird next paint job. Anybody know how to do that?
